November 2016 - Christmas Prep

I may not leave a lot of money or material things behind for my daughter, but I hope and pray that she will always remember these moments in our life together on this earth. Ruby Davis Maul, I have loved you before I ever met you or your mother! I know that sounds crazy, but as far as I can remember I always wanted a sister. You could ask any of my high school or College friends about that. I've always wanted a sister. Maybe I have always had fatherly protection issues, I don't know, but I've always wanted a sister to protect. My dad had a sister and he was crazy protective over her. Maybe that is where I get it from. I've always been a lot like my father, everyone says it. Lately, I've learned that I'm a lot more like my father than I really thought. That's not a bad thing dad, just something that I'm learning to embrace in my older age. Anyway, maybe God gave me her to replace that sister phase that I have had all of my life. In mean if you really know me you know that  I wasn't ever supposed to have children of my own. I prayed that if I only had one child it would be a little girl. All I can say is THANK YOU LORD for this beauty that you have given me. I know that sometimes I get upset with her strong willed self, and trust me this child is strong willed! BUT, I also remember back to what I asked for. I asked for a baby girl that ow;d be independent. A child that loved her daddy, but was also like her daddy and wasn't afraid to be the person that SHE wanted to be. I wanted a girl that was not afraid of being who she wanted to be. And I hate to get all political, but on a day after a historcal election.
So it is the first weekend in November, and yes we are getting the house prepared for the GrisMaul Family light display. Yes, it seriously takes this long to get it all up and going. This year Ruby is really wanting to help, and I could not be anymore excited. The series of this next few pictures are of us all working on the house. All pictures were taken the first weekend in November, we have such a long way to go to convert this house into Whoville!

2016 Maul Family Christmas Card

I know that it is only November 2nd, but here is the inspiration for our 2016 Christmas Card! I know it isn't movie themed this year, but seriously, how do I top last years card? This year's card is almost complete! I can't wait to post this one!!

And here it is.... I am only posting this on the blog until Thanksgiving day, so  Carissia you may enjoy. LOL! I couldn't do a Christmas Card without Virginia involved this year. This past year has been a journey making her look pretty again. Merry Christmas everyone, and be looking out for more 2016 Christmas posts very soon!

2015 Maul Family Christmas Card

The inspiration for the 2015 Christmas Card

And here it is! The 2015 Maul Family Christmas Card! I think that we outdid ourselves this year! I am really not sure that we can ever to this movie themed Christmas Card. And yes, some of the stuff in this picture was actually taken from the real movie cover. Getting Ruby to do this pose was about impossible. We had to tell her that Santa Clause wanted her to do it. I had one chance to get this shot. It was taken in her bed right before she went to sleep one night. Merry Christmas everyone!

Added a little more color than last year. I think Ruby likes them. Christmas 2015 is in full go at the Maul house.

Decorating the Tree

This is the first year that Ruby seems to understand Christmas. She wanted to help decorate the tree. This may have been the cutest thing I've ever seen.
